For a decision support information system to remain consistent it requires reliable and appropriately defined information:
- Where does the data derive from?
- How is it calculated?
- When was it updated last?
- Where is it used?
This information, contained in the Modelys° metadata repository also enables the computer system and users to speak the same language through information system mapping.
Metadata is related to the requirements of each function and the repository must therefore be easily upgradeable.
